Bald Eagle Area School District
This is one of the largest geographical districts in Pennsylvania! It covers a lot of rural areas that are sparsely populated. The graduating class average is 130 seniors per year. Much of the living here is independent, where you’ll find homes nestled in the mountains and farming valleys and privacy is easy to come by. The few small communities are friendly and welcoming, while also being proud of their history dating back to the time where mining and railroading were the way of life.

Keystone Central Area School District
This is the largest geographic district in the state of Pennsylvania that covers municipalities in parts of Clinton, Centre, and Potter counties. In Centre County, students located in the rural areas of Curtin and Liberty townships attend the Keystone Central schools. This district includes Lock Haven University, located in the Clinton County seat of Lock Haven. You will also find parts of Sproul State Forest and Bald Eagle State Park here as well as Foster Joseph Sayers Lake.
Tyrone Area School District
This district is centered in Tyrone but stretches across parts of three counties that include Blair, Centre, and Huntingdon counties. For Centre County, students living in Taylor Township attend Tyrone area schools. Taylor Township is a beautiful rural community near Route 220 that is centrally located between State College and Altoona.
Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District
Resting in the highland area of Centre County, this area is connected to State College by Route 322 and I-99. The school district here extends beyond Centre County to include the Clearfield County municipalities of Wallaceton Borough and Decatur and Boggs townships, with a graduating class of about 120 students each year. Over half of the school district area here is covered by scenic state forest, state park, and state game lands, while most of the residents populate the Philipsburg area.

Penns Valley Area School District
This area stretches from the quaint town of Centre Hall to the woodlands of Bald Eagle State Forest and is known for its charming towns. Here you’ll also find sprawling farm lands dotted throughout the landscape that provide the most picturesque pastoral vistas. The school district brings students together from the edges of the county with about 100 students graduating from this area each year.

State College Area School District
This is the most populous school district in Centre County, mostly due to the area surrounding Penn State University’s main campus. The district continues to stay true to its rural roots though, with farmlands and a state forest as well as game lands.
You can find a diverse and multicultural school district here because of the university’s international student and academic populations.
The high school enjoys perks from the universities like a wide variety of course selections and more options for education paths. The average graduating class is about 560 students each year.
